David G. Williams
David Williams has extensive experience in a wide variety of complex real estate transactions, including the acquisition, sale and development of large commercial real estate assets and real estate portfolios; the representation of developers and lenders in connection with closing and restructuring secured loan transactions; the formation of real estate funds; and the structuring and restructuring of partnerships and limited liability companies.
Recent transactions include representing the developer of a large mixed-use, public-private project on the Savannah River in Savannah, Georgia, handling the development of an apartment complex and certain public improvements in a TOD project with MARTA, forming a GP fund to provide capital for acquisition and development opportunities, representing the developer of an iconic apartment building on Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta, and closing multiple construction and permanent loans for large industrial warehouse developer in the Southeast.
Prior to joining Sheley, Hall & Williams, P.C., Mr. Williams was a partner at King & Spalding LLP for 11 years and a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP for 2 years. Mr. Williams began his career at Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum & Nagelberg, a boutique real estate law firm in Chicago.
Mr. Williams has served as an adjunct professor at Emory University Law School and served as the chairman of the board of directors of the non-profit “Fugees Family, Inc.” based in Clarkston, Georgia.
Mr. Williams received his B.A. in French & German from Oxford University in the United Kingdom and received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association.
